Best credit card for streaming and entertainment
Streaming is a small but fixed monthly cost. Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, and similar services usually code as "streaming" or "entertainment." A few cards pay 3% to 6% on this category. The dollar amount per year is modest, but it's easy to optimize: set the card once and forget it.
Amex Blue Cash Preferred: 6% on select streaming
6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions (e.g. Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max). The list is in the terms. $95 annual fee. If you already have the card for groceries, streaming is a bonus. If you're getting it only for streaming, do the math: 6% on $30/month is about $22/year. The fee is $95.
Best for: People who already hold the Blue Cash Preferred for the grocery bonus. Then streaming is free upside.
Capital One SavorOne: 3% on streaming
3% cash back on streaming, dining, and entertainment. No annual fee. No cap on streaming. One of the simplest options if you want a single rate on streaming without paying a fee.
Other cards with streaming or entertainment bonuses
Some cards bundle "streaming" with "entertainment" (e.g. 3% on both). Others have rotating categories that include streaming one quarter a year. Check your card's category list. Streaming is usually clearly labeled.
